Trouble Won’t Last Always

As human beings, it can be challenging to comprehend the reason for our suffering. In seasons when it seems that trial after trial and setback after setback are the center of our lives, we can find hope that the promise of eternal glory outweighs any obstacles we endure in this life (2 Corinthians 4:17). This truth is a focal point and a reminder of where to fix our thoughts when we experience trouble of any kind. Trouble won’t last always, and God gives a promise of life that is everlasting and devoid of death, sorrow, crying, or pain (Revelation 21:4).

Is this truth hard to believe? Maybe – if you’re only looking at the storm. But, if you keep your mind on Jesus (the one who calms the storm), think about the things of heaven (Colossians 3:2), resist any negative thoughts that try to stir up worry or fear, you can rest assured that not only is Jesus in the boat with you, but that He’ll rebuke the storm and bring you through to safety. That is the gift of peace that surpasses understanding. The peace of God that will guard your hearts and minds as long as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
