Psalm 147:5 (NIV) reads, “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.” We serve a God who is great and mighty. This truth gives us an assurance that no matter what our circumstances may look like, we have the power and authority to proclaim the name of Jesus and walk in victory over any and every situation. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” (Proverbs 18:10 ESV).
As 2024 comes to a close, let’s think back on all God has brought us through. For some, 2024 was everything we’ve been praying for and more. For many, 2024 did not turn out as we planned. Between the personal and professional losses, the missteps, or maybe even a few set backs — we’re ready for 2024 to kick rocks. Maybe you’ve started anticipating the start of 2025, thinking you’ll get a fresh start on January 1st. Let me tell you — you don’t have to wait until 2025 to reset. You don’t have to write a resolution in order for God to do a new thing in you today. No matter what 2024 has looked like for you, God is still worthy of our praise. I thank God for sustaining me and giving me another day of life. This year didn’t pan out how I thought, but I’m still here. And that means God has more in store for me.
Every obstacle I faced this year, I knew God was with me. And every time I called on His name, He rescued me. Knowing that there is power in the name of Jesus hits differently when you actually believe it and see it manifest in your life. The reality is that God knew what 2024 was going to look like before it began. And He’s still not done yet! If you’re counting down the days until 2025, I encourage you to start worshiping God right now…wherever you are. Ask Him to renew your mind and restore your broken heart right now. Receive His new mercies. Forgive yourself and others, and keep pursuing God in your obedience, prayers, and consumption of the Word. Let His presence fill you with joy and peace everlasting. Declare that God is mighty even when your circumstances try to weigh you down. We are more than conquerors and nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:37, 39). Walk into your fresh start with Jesus today.
