Prioritizing Prayer

Luke 5:19 (NIV) – “Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray.”

Prayer is foundational to discerning the will of God. We have been given access to the Father through Jesus Christ to speak and to hear from God regarding His purpose and plans for our lives. Through prayer and meditation on the Word, we receive God’s truth about our identity, strength to endure life’s challenges, and a renewed mind that draws us to obedience and submission so we can experience the fullness of God.

Luke 5:16 shows us that even Jesus regularly found time to communicate with the Father through prayer, away from the noise, away from people, away from the busyness of life. Let Jesus’ example be a reminder for you to set intentional, regular prayer time with God. Make the decision today to take at least one step to prioritize prayer. Maybe set a prayer alarm throughout the day, or create a daily calendar invite. Perhaps you may consider joining a prayer group or asking a friend to be your prayer partner.

Whatever that one thing is, do it today. At Prayers2Persevere, we pray corporately on weekdays at 8am ET/ 5am PT on Zoom. If you’d like to get connected, visit the Morning Prayer Call page. God bless!
