Prayer: Bearing Good Fruit

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and Your promises. Thank You for waking me up and giving me joy and hope for another day. May my life be a reflection of Your grace, mercy, and everlasting love. I need You and I know that apart from You I can do nothing (John 15:5).

As I reflect on my life, I am reminded of the pruning seasons that were necessary to bear good fruit for You. Show me the areas of my life that are dying or dead so they can be cut off and laid at Your feet. Teach me your Word and Your ways so I can continue to bear good fruit. Abide in me as I abide in You (John 15:4). Forgive me of my sins and show me how to walk blameless in Your sight until the day You return (2 Peter 3:13-14). Give me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me (Psalm 51:10). Exchange my thoughts for Your thoughts and my ways for Your ways for they are higher than mine (Isaiah 55:8-9). Develop a thirst in me to study and meditate on Your Word and to pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion (Ephesians 6:18). Keep me humble so that Your character is always revealed through me. Help me to remove distractions so I can hear Your voice and receive Your instruction. Reveal Your plans and impart Your wisdom. Show me the paths you desire me to take and endow me with the power of Your Spirit (Luke 24:49). For I know that with You, everything is possible (Matthew 19:26).

In a world where something is always fighting for my attention or trying to pull me away from my purpose, I call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised and He saves me (Psalm 18:3)! Holding on to what I learned in my pruning seasons as I continue to follow You, I let my roots grow down into You and build my life on You so that my faith grows strong in the truth I was taught and I overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-7). You are good and Your mercy endures forever (Psalm 106:1)! In Jesus’ name I pray and give thanks, Amen.
