Hope on Independence Day

This post was inspired by this morning’s prayer call and graciously shared by one of our members.

Today, we celebrate Independence Day, July 4th. A day marked by red, white, and blue and American flags flown high and proud.  This day in 1776 commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence – the formal separation of the United States from Great Britain. While we can see this day as a celebration for the country, we can also celebrate our spiritual freedom that was won on the cross as believers in Jesus Christ.

What are you free from this Independence Day? Is it darkness, death, unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, regrets, depression, distractions, chaos, and sin? This is the Blue in your life.

You accepted the transfusion of the blood of Jesus Christ, which brought order in your life. This is the Red in your life.

Now, you have been cleaned, forgiven, and set free. This is the White in your life.

So, celebrate your Independence Day! Your Red, White, and Blue! The day you accepted Christ and found true freedom that can never be taken from you.
